HDB awards Keppel contract for centralised cooling systems in nine Tengah BTO projects
Around 10,000 more Build-to-Order households in Tengah will have the option of centralised cooling systems. The Housing & Development Board has awarded Keppel a 20-year contract to design, install and operate the systems at nine upcoming BTO projects. The projects cover Tengah’s Brickland, Park and Forest Hill districts. According to HDB and Keppel, these systems are about 30% more energy-efficient than typical air-conditioners, as they rely on cooled water piped in from centralised chillers.
