CNA Montfort Junior School will accept female students from 2028

Montfort Junior School will be taking in girls for the first time in 52 years, starting from its Primary 1 cohort in 2028. Upgrading works will start from the end of this year. The move comes amid Singapore’s record-low fertility rate and changing social norms. Montfort Junior School is part of a group of Catholic schools under the St Gabriel’s Foundation. Talks are ongoing for the all-boys Montfort Secondary School to also be co-ed, possibly by 2034. Alxis Thng reports.
