China’s Watang-Rizhao Railway passes 30,000 heavy-haul train milestone #coolchina
China’s Watang-Rizhao Railway has surpassed 30,000 heavy-haul trains, marking a new milestone for one of the country’s key coal transport corridors. The 1,260-kilometer railway has increased daily train services from just over 10 in its early years to more than 140, with train loads rising from 5,000 tonnes to 12,000 tonnes. Since entering operation in December 2014, it has transported more than 700 million tonnes of coal and other goods. #coolchina
