At least three tankers pass Strait of Hormuz on first day of US blockade
At least three tankers have entered the Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz, ever since the US imposed a blockade on vessels heading for and leaving Iranian ports. Shipping data showed the vessels that crossed Hormuz so far were not going to affected docks. Meanwhile, a resumption of US-Iran talks could be on the cards, with a second round of negotiations reportedly planned in Islamabad as early as this week. Tehran had emphasised a lack of trust in American negotiators, while US Vice President JD Vance said the ball is now in Iran’s court. Nick Harper reports from Washington DC.
