मुर्शिदाबाद जिले की 22 सीटों पर भी वोट डाले जाएंगे मुर्शिदाबाद में दो तिहाई आबादी मुसलमानों की है पिछली बार TMC ने मुर्शिदाबाद ज़िले की 22 में से 20 सीटों पर जीत हासिल की थी लेकिन, इस बार कांग्रेस भी मुर्शिदाबाद में काफ़ी ताक़त लगा रही है मुर्शिदाबाद की बहरामपुर सीट से कांग्रेस के पूर्व बंगाल अध्यक्ष अधीर रंजन चौधरी चुनाव लड़ रहे हैं वहीं, मुर्शिदाबाद में TMC का मुस्लिम चेहरा रहे हुमायूं कबीर भी मुस्लिम वोटर्स को लुभाने में जुटे रहे हुमायूं कबीर ख़ुद मुर्शिदाबाद की नौडा सीट से चुनाव मैदान में हैं ऐसे में मुर्शिदाबाद का चुनाव काफ़ी दिलचस्प हो गया है चुनाव आयोग ने इस बार सबसे ज़्यादा सिक्योरिटी फ़ोर्स मुर्शिदाबाद बांकुड़ा, बीरभूम और मालदा ज़िलों में ही तैनात की है वोटर लिस्ट के स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिवीज़न के बाद यहां 4 लाख 59 हज़ार वोटर घट गए हैं इसका असर, इस बार के नतीजों पर भी दिख सकता है !
Votes will also be cast for the 22 seats in the Murshidabad district. Muslims constitute two-thirds of the population in Murshidabad. In the previous election, the TMC secured victory in 20 out of the 22 seats in the Murshidabad district; however, this time around, the Congress party is also exerting considerable effort in the region. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the former Bengal President of the Congress, is contesting the election from the Baharampur seat in Murshidabad. Meanwhile, Humayun Kabir—who has served as the Muslim face of the TMC in Murshidabad—has also been actively engaged in wooing Muslim voters. Humayun Kabir himself is in the electoral fray, contesting from the Naoda seat in Murshidabad. Consequently, the election in Murshidabad has become quite intriguing. This time, the Election Commission has deployed the highest concentration of security forces specifically in the districts of Murshidabad, Bankura, Birbhum, and Malda. Following a special intensive revision of the voter lists, the number of voters in this region has declined by 459,000; the impact of this reduction could well be reflected in the election results this time around.
