बंगाल के पहले राउंड की ज़्यादातर सीटें नॉर्थ बंगाल में हैं, जो असम के बेहद क़रीब है ऐतिहासिक और सांस्कृतिक रूप से बंगाल के इस हिस्से का असम से नज़दीकी संबंध रहा है इसलिए, नॉर्थ बंगाल में असम के मुख्यमंत्री हिमंता बिस्वा सरमा लगातार प्रचार कर रहे हैं आज हिमंता ने सिलिगुड़ी में रैली की हिमंता ने भी कहा कि बंगाल के लोग समझ चुके हैं कि ममता बनर्जी को मुग़लों से प्रेम है हिंदुओं से नफ़रत है इसीलिए, इस बार बंगाल के हिन्दू ममता के चक्कर में नहीं फंसेगे !
Most of the seats in the first phase of the Bengal elections are located in North Bengal, a region situated in close proximity to Assam. Historically and culturally, this part of Bengal has shared deep ties with Assam; consequently, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been campaigning extensively across North Bengal. Today, Himanta held a rally in Siliguri, where he asserted that the people of Bengal have come to realize that Mamata Banerjee harbors an affection for the Mughals while harboring animosity towards Hindus. Therefore, he declared, the Hindus of Bengal will not fall into Mamata’s trap this time around!
