US President Donald Trump arrived in South Korea on Wednesday for the final leg of his Asia tour, his first visit in six years. South Korea awarded him its highest civilian honour, the Grand Order of Mugunghwa, during a lavish ceremony in Gyeongju, where he also received a replica of a royal Silla crown. In talks with President Lee Jae Myung, Trump discussed defence and trade cooperation, saying the peninsula “remains at war” but pledged to work toward peace. His visit came hours after North Korea test-fired nuclear-capable cruise missiles, testing the fragile stability in the region.
