As the shutdown stalemate enters its 13th day, the White House warns more jobs could be lost after workers at multiple departments throughout the federal government have already received layoff notices. Smithsonian museums and the National Zoo, which had been able to say open for the first stretch of the shutdown using other funds, closed their doors on Sunday. NBC’s Monica Alba reports for TODAY.
