SJPIT blank Lodge in BSSFL
Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology have jumped two places in the Barbados Secondary Schools Football League, after their blanking of hosts The Lodge School yesterday.
Playing at Massiah Street, St. John in League One, SJPIT blanked Lodge 2-0.
Ajani Payne opened the scoring with a penalty in the 39th minute, which was initially saved by the Lodge custodian, but Payne made good on the loose ball.
Goal number two was followed with a strike by Ramiro Dunner in the 73rd minute. What seemed like a routine cross bobbled into the bars off the thigh of an unmarked Dunner.
The result lifts SJPIT to fourth on seven points, while Lodge are still winless after four games.
St. George lead League One with 13 points, while Frederick Smith lead League Two on 16.
