In the first quarter of 2026, investment in China’s power grid topped 160 billion yuan, about 1.8 billion yuan per day. In January and February, newly added power capacity exceeded 65 gigawatts, with nearly 70 percent coming from renewable energy. These figures highlight a fast-tracked transition toward a cleaner, more flexible and more reliable energy system – helping keep the lights on while supporting growth across the economy.
