More energy-intensive firms in Singapore reducing power usage during peak periods
As the energy crunch steamrolls across the world, Singapore’s Energy Market Authority says it has seen those in energy-intensive sectors, such as manufacturing, cut their power consumption during peak periods. A demand-response programme, which rewards them for reducing energy use when demand and prices are high, has seen participation increase from four consumers in 2023 to 16 this year.
