Minister Padarath Highlights The Value Of Cultural Activities In The Workplace
Religious, cultural and social activities are important to improving workplace productivity, and the Minister of Public Utilities, Barry Padarath, says the government is recognising this.
Speaking at T&TEC’s Eid commemorations, the Minister of Public Utilities took some time to mingle with staff and partake in a day of family and camaraderie.
He told participants that the government and Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago see a major value in the return of these activities for work-life balance.
“Having had the opportunity to be an understudy of the Honourable Prime Minister, I see the value of religious activities, cultural activities and social activities that bring employees and their families together, that contribute significantly to the development of any state enterprise or organisation. And therefore, I was very happy to lend my support to the return of these events, whether it is Eid celebrations, Diwali, Christmas or any other because of the value that it brings in including a sense of purpose and a sense of fellowship among our employees.”
Minister Padarath took the time to thank public servants for their dedication to duty noting that what they do is sometimes not recognised enough.
“Sometimes many of you, you are the unsung heroes that often get the criticism first and foremost but it’s very seldom that you get the praise. And this evening, I want to say to you, thank you for your strength, your determination to keep the electricity company going as we observe 80 years of service to the people of Trinidad and Tobago.”
He said that while there are challenges across the public sector, the government is making strides towards improving the economy.
Thank you for your support in keeping this website running.💛
