In a major development, a significant violation of the ceasefire has occurred between the U.S. and Iran near the Strait of Hormuz—the United States has launched a missile attack on an Iranian commercial vessel. The U.S. asserts that the Iranian ship was attempting to breach its naval blockade. Despite repeated warnings, the Iranian vessel failed to turn back; consequently, a U.S. warship opened fire on the vessel before subsequently seizing it. Meanwhile, Iran has launched a counter-attack against the United States, claiming to have struck a U.S. warship using a drone. Following this drone attack, the U.S. warship was forced to retreat.
