Icelandair pilot under investigation for unauthorised low flypast during retirement flight
An Icelandair pilot is under investigation after flying a Boeing 757 at low altitude over his hometown — without company approval. The detour happened on Saturday (Apr 11) during a scheduled flight from Frankfurt to Keflavik, and was reportedly the 65-year-old pilot’s final flight before his retirement. The airline says the incident falls outside standard operating procedures and is now under internal review.
