Charlie Kirk dead: FBI gives update after fatal shooting at college event | LIVE
FBI Special Agent in Charge and Dept. of Public Safety officials will hold a news conference on Thursday regarding the shooting of American right-wing personality Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. Kirk was shot and killed on stage when he was hit in the neck.
On Wednesday, Utah Commissioner of Public Safety Beau Mason said a person of interest was in custody. Earlier, another person of interest was ruled out to be the shooter, but was arrested on an obstruction of justice charge.
Mason said the shot “potentially came from a roof” at a “longer distance.” Mason called the killing a “targeted attack towards one individual.”
Mason said the description of the suspected shooter is that of someone dressed “in all dark clothing.”
Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said authorities are “actively looking for anyone and everyone who has any possible information.”
