Iran and the U.S. are in a standoff over the Strait of Hormuz, where traffic has slowed to a crawl despite the ceasefire between both countries. The strait’s effective closure has driven gas prices up around the world, as roughly 20 to 25 per cent of the world’s fuel is typically shipped through the strait.
The U.S. military released a video Thursday that shows marines boarding a sanctioned ship in the Indian ocean. Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Crops (IRGC) says it has detained two ships this week and directed them to the Iranian coast.
