Anthropic shipped Claude Opus 4.7 this morning, its most powerful publicly available AI model, and leading every other model on the hardest coding benchmarks. The AI race is fragmenting fast: ChatGPT’s traffic share dropped from 77 percent to 57 percent in twelve months while Gemini quadrupled to 25 percent and Claude nearly tripled in three months, according to SimilarWeb data. All of this as we head into the biggest single day of earnings season. On April 29, Meta, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Amazon all report on the same afternoon. Those four companies are spending a combined $650 billion on AI infrastructure this year.
