CNA ‘Nobody told me this was such a dangerous profession’: Trump after gunshots at White House dinner

US President Donald Trump quipped that the presidency was a “dangerous profession”, after gunshots disrupted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday (Apr 25) evening, adding that those who make the biggest impact are often targeted.

A suspect, identified as a 31-year-old man from California, was later apprehended, with Trump describing him as a “lone wolf” armed with multiple weapons.

Police said the man will be charged with firearms and assault offences, adding that the incident appears to be isolated as investigations continue into his motive and intended target.
