Hong Kong fire: Families desperately waiting for news of loved ones

As rescue efforts at a residential complex in Hong Kong’s Tai Po continue, many families are desperately waiting for news of loved ones who might be trapped in their apartments after a fire broke out on Wednesday (Nov 26). The Red Cross has been offering food and mental health support, reported CNA’s Deborah Wong.

Investigations reveal that non-compliant construction materials may have accelerated the fire’s spread at Wang Fuk Court, which is home to about 4,000 residents. At least 44 are dead and about 300 still missing.
