China’s Y-20B crew set for CPV martyrs’ transfer mission
The crew of the PLA Air Force’s Y-20B transport aircraft carried out meticulous preparations for a solemn mission – bringing home the remains of fallen Chinese soldiers from the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950–1953).
On Monday, a Y-20B aircraft was dispatched to the Republic of Korea to repatriate the remains of Chinese People’s Volunteers (CPV) heroes who lost their lives in the war.
To honor the fallen, the cabin was carefully arranged: a military-green carpet covered the floor, while coffin racks were firmly secured and equipped with anti-collision features to ensure a stable and respectful journey.
During the war, China deployed 2.9 million CPV troops to support the DPRK, with more than 360,000 casualties. Since 2014, China and the ROK have completed 12 handovers, returning the remains of 1,011 CPV martyrs along with their personal belongings.
