CGTN China reasserts stance on Taiwan region after Xi-Trump call

The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said Wednesday that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s remarks concerning Taiwan region interfere in China’s internal affairs and urged Japan to immediately correct its mistakes. The comments reaffirm China’s firm position on the Taiwan question following Monday’s phone call between Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump. The office’s statement sends a clear message, both to Japan and to separatists in China’s Taiwan region, that miscalculation will not be tolerated.
