दक्षिण की पार्टियों की मांग है कि हर राज्य को पार्लियामेंट में बराबर अहमियत और रिप्रेजेंटेशन मिलना चाहिए.. इस पर गृहमंत्री अमित शाह ने साफ कर दिया है कि सीटों में 50 परसेंट की बढ़ोतरी की योजना से दक्षिण भारत के हर राज्य को ज़्यादा सीटें मिलेंगी.. कर्नाटक, आंध्र प्रदेश, तेलंगाना, तमिलनाडु, केरल सभी राज्यों में 50 फीसदी सीटों में इजाफा होगा… डिलिमिटेशन बिल को लेकर दक्षिण राज्यों की पार्टियों की सबसे बड़ी चिंता… संसद में उनके अधिकार कम होने की है… विपक्ष की सबसे बड़ी शिकायत यह है कि 2011 के सेंसस डेटा का इस्तेमाल करके आबादी के आधार पर डिलिमिटेशन करने से दक्षिणी राज्य पार्लियामेंट के किनारे चले जाएंगे और हिंदी हार्टलैंड ड्राइवर सीट पर आ जाएगा…लोकसभा में गृहमंत्री ने दक्षिण के 5 राज्यों में डिलिमिटेशन के बाद होने वाले बदलाव और सीटों की संख्या का गणित भी समझा दिया…
Parties from the South are demanding that every state be accorded equal importance and representation in Parliament. In response, Home Minister Amit Shah has clarified that the proposed plan to increase the number of seats by 50 percent will result in every South Indian state receiving a higher allocation of seats. Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala—all these states will witness a 50 percent increase in their seat quotas. The primary concern among parties in the southern states regarding the Delimitation Bill is the potential diminution of their influence within Parliament. The Opposition’s chief grievance is that conducting delimitation based on population figures—utilizing data from the 2011 Census—would marginalize the southern states within Parliament, while placing the Hindi heartland firmly in the driver’s seat. In the Lok Sabha, the Home Minister also elucidated the specific changes and the numerical breakdown of seats that would ensue in the five southern states following the delimitation exercise.
