पश्चिम बंगाल की 152 और तमिलनाडु की 234 विधानसभा सीटों पर वोटिंग हो रही है। बंगाल में दो चरण में विधानसभा चुनाव होने हैं जिसमें यानी 23 अप्रैल को पहले चरण की वोटिंग हो रही है. पहले चरण में 152 सीटों पर मतदान हो रहा है। पश्चिम बंगाल में ममता बनर्जी की टीएमसी के लिए सत्ता बचाए रखना बड़ी चुनौती है। चुनाव आयोग ने पश्चिम बंगाल विधानसभा चुनाव लड़ रहे उम्मीदवारों को निर्देश दिया है कि वे 23 अप्रैल को सुबह छह बजे से मतदान समाप्त होने तक अपने-अपने निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों से बाहर नहीं जाएं।

Voting is underway for 152 Assembly seats in West Bengal and 234 seats in Tamil Nadu. The Assembly elections in Bengal are being held in two phases; specifically, voting for the first phase is taking place on April 23. In this first phase, polling is being conducted for 152 seats. In West Bengal, retaining power poses a major challenge for Mamata Banerjee’s TMC. The Election Commission has directed candidates contesting the West Bengal Assembly elections not to leave their respective constituencies from 6:00 AM on April 23 until the conclusion of voting.
