Torrential floods ravage suburbs of Yemen’s Aden
Floods swept through a suburb of Yemen’s southern city of Aden through the weekend in what is believed to be the worst natural disaster the area has seen in years. Torrential rains late on Saturday (August 23) caused the valley of al-Haswa suburb to overflow, submerging homes and cars and isolating entire neighbourhoods. Drone footage captured the scale of devastation, with floodwaters engulfing al-Haswa and neighbouring Bir Ahmed.
