“Daughters not our property…”, NCW chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar on Greater Noida dowry case
On the Greater Noida dowry murder case, National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar says, “…I strongly condemn this incident. Daughters are not our property that we would do whatever we feel like with them. There have been movements in the country to end such malpractices. Those malpractices have taken up a new form now, this is a matter of grave concern. NCW has taken cognisance of this and we have told the UP DGP to investigate this swiftly. 4 people have been arrested so far. Police are taking swift action…How can society act like this?…”
