Al Jazeera English Brazil’s Bolsonaro detained for damaging ankle monitor

Brazilian police are accusing former president Jair Bolsonaro of using a soldering iron to try to remove his ankle monitor.
That’s prompted the Supreme Court to order his detention over fears he’d try to escape house arrest and evade a 27-year jail term for plotting a coup.
His lawyer says the allegation is false.
