On Friday, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher accused “some Israeli leaders” of using “food as a weapon of war” to cause a famine in Gaza. This follows a report by the United Nations’s Integrated Food Security Phase Classification which found that Gaza is facing a famine.
