Yoon trial sees explosive new claim / KBS 2025.11.03.　#KBSNews

Today (Nov. 3), in the trial regarding former President Yoon Suk Yeol’s charges of insurrection, new testimony from former Commander Kwak Jong-geun has emerged.

He claimed that two months before the martial law, former President Yoon stated he would “shoot some politicians, including former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon,” directly.

The former president’s side immediately denied the claims, stating they are not true.

Former President Yoon Suk Yeol faced former Army Special Warfare Commander Kwak Jong-geun again in the trial regarding the insurrection charges, following last week.

Former Commander Kwak testified that two months before the emergency martial law, former President Yoon “called out some politicians, including Han Dong-hoon, and told me to bring them before him.”

He also stated, “He said he would kill them even if he had to shoot them.”

This testimony had not come up during the special prosecutor’s investigation.

Previously, former Commander Kwak claimed he heard mentions of emergency powers during a National Armed Forces Day dinner.

Former President Yoon took the stand and said, “Wasn’t October 1st of last year a day when we drank a lot while passing around bomb shots at the residence?” and “It was not a situation to discuss the state of affairs,” denying any mention of ‘emergency powers.’

In response, former Commander Kwak recalled specific memories.

Former President Yoon laughed in disbelief and did not ask any further questions, while the defense team stated through a notice that “he never made such statements.”

A dispute also continued over the ‘order to arrest members of the National Assembly.’

Former Commander Kwak stated that he received instructions from former President Yoon at 12:31 AM on December 4th via phone.

Former President Yoon countered that even before this call, Kwak’s subordinate had already instructed to “pull out the members.”

In response, former Commander Kwak stated that it appeared to be an action taken in the context of carrying out the mission of ‘securing the member’s office.’
