कहा जाता है कि महाभारत काल में पांडवों ने अपने अज्ञातवास का समय यहीं व्यतीत किया था। इसी सरोवर के किनारे युधिष्ठिर ने यक्ष के प्रश्नों का जवाब देकर अपने भाइयों की जान बचाई थी। इस मंदिर की स्थापना द्रौपदी के साथ पांडवों ने की थी।

It is said that the Pandavas spent their exile here during the Mahabharata period. It was on the banks of this lake that Yudhishthira saved his brothers’ lives by answering the questions of a Yaksha. The Pandavas, along with Draupadi, founded this temple.
