इस समय हर किसी के दिमाग में यह सवाल खड़े हो रहे होंगे तो चलिए बारिकी से समझते हैं मिग-21 विमान को…इस विमान को भारत में साल 1963 के करीब लाया गया था और इसके बाद इसे भारतीय वायुसेना में शामिल कर दिया था. इस विमान को भारत का बैकबोन भी कहा जाता है इतना ही नहीं बल्कि कुछ लोगों का कहना है कि इस विमान ने छह दशकों की सेवा देकर देश के साथ एक अटूट रिश्ता कायम कर लिया है. MIG-21 एक ऐसा योद्धा है जिसने भारत का हर बार न सिर्फ साथ दिया था बल्कि देश को हर बार गौरव भी महसूस करवाया है. मिग-21 को पूरा देश F-16 KILLER के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, ऐसा इसलिए है क्योंकि 1965 के साथ साथ 1971 वाले भारत-पाकिस्तान युद्ध में मिग-21 को सबसे अहम लड़ाकू विमान माना गया था इतना ही नहीं बल्कि 1999 में हुए कारगिल युद्ध और 2019 में बालाकोट एयरस्ट्राइक में मिग-21 ने पाकिस्तान के सबसे ताकतवर और एडवांस्ड F-16 लड़ाकू विमान को बुरी तरह धूल चटा दी थी जबकि F-16 विमान अमेरिका के बनाए गए सबसे शानदार विमानों में से एक माना जाता था. जैसे ही मिग-21 विमान यह ऐतिहासिक काम कर दिखाया था तब देश ही नहीं बल्कि पूरी दुनिया में इसके नाम की चमक थी.
इस विमान की स्पीड आवाज की स्पीड से भी तेज है साथ ही आपको बता दें कि इसकी रेंज लगभग 1470 किलोमीटर तक की थी. हालांकि इस विमान को चलता फिरता कॉफिन भी कह सकते हैं और ऐसा इसलिए क्योंकि बीतें कुछ दशकों से मिग-21 को उड़ता ताबूत बुलाया जाने लगा और ऐसा इसलिए था क्योंकि मिग-21 विमानों में एक के बाद एक दिक्कत आ रही थी और लगातार सैकड़ों मिग-21 क्रैश होते जा रहे थे जिसकी वजह से इसने 200 से ज्यादा पायलटों को मौत के घाट तक उतार दिया था. और यहीं कारण है कि मिग-21 को उड़ता ताबूत कहा जाने लगा.
