लेह में राज्य के दर्जे और छठी अनुसूची की मांग को लेकर हो रहे प्रदर्शन में हिंसा भड़क उठी जिसमें चार लोगों की जान चली गई और 70 लोग घायल हो गए। प्रदर्शनकारियों ने भाजपा कार्यालय और स्वायत्त परिषद में तोड़फोड़ की। पुलिस ने लाठीचार्ज और आंसू गैस का इस्तेमाल किया जिसके बाद पूरे जिले में कर्फ्यू लगा दिया गया है। कार्यकर्ता सोनम वांगचुक ने अनशन समाप्त कर दिया है।

Violence erupted in Leh during a protest demanding statehood and the Sixth Schedule, leaving four people dead and 70 injured. Protesters vandalized the BJP office and the autonomous council. Police resorted to lathicharge and tear gas, prompting a curfew in the entire district. Activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his fast.
