पश्चिम बंगाल उर्दू एकेडमी के एक प्रोग्राम में मशहूर शायर, फिल्म लेखक और गीतकार जावेद अख्तर को बुलाए जाने पर विवाद हो गया है. जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद की कोलकाता इकाई ने इस पर कड़ा एतराज जताया है. जमीयत ने एकेडमी को चिट्ठी लिखकर साफ कहा है कि जावेद अख्तर को इस प्रोग्राम में ना बुलाया जाए.

There has been a controversy over the invitation of famous poet, film writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar to a program of West Bengal Urdu Academy. The Kolkata unit of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind has strongly objected to this. Jamiat has written a letter to the academy and clearly said that Javed Akhtar should not be invited to this program.
