हिमाचल प्रदेश में भारी बारिश और बाढ़ ने जनजीवन को अस्त-व्यस्त कर दिया है। राज्य के मैदानी और पहाड़ी इलाकों में हालात गंभीर हैं। हिमाचल प्रदेश, उत्तराखंड और जम्मू कश्मीर में भारी तबाही हुई है, जिसमें हिमाचल प्रदेश सबसे ज्यादा प्रभावित है। मुख्यमंत्री ने राज्य को आपदाग्रस्त घोषित किया है। मनाली में भारी बारिश से सबसे ज्यादा तबाही मची है, जहां ओल्ड मनाली को न्यू मनाली से जोड़ने वाला पुल टूट गया। पुल टूटने से कई गाड़ियां फंस गईं और आवाजाही ठप हो गई। व्यास नदी उफान पर है और मनालसू नदी भी खतरे के निशान से ऊपर बह रही है। अगस्त महीने में चार जिलों कुल्लू, शिमला, ऊना और सोलन में रिकॉर्ड 431 मिलीमीटर बारिश दर्ज की गई है, जो 76 साल बाद हुई है।

Many vehicles got stuck due to the collapse of the bridge and traffic came to a halt. The Beas river is in spate and the Manalsu river is also flowing above the danger mark. In the month of August, a record 431 mm rainfall has been recorded in four districts Kullu, Shimla, Una and Solan, which has happened after 76 years.
