भारत के विदेश मंत्री जयशंकर ने सोमवार को अमेरिका के विदेश मंत्री मार्को रुबियो से मुलाकात की। इस बैठक में दोनों नेताओं ने द्विपक्षीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय मुद्दों पर चर्चा की। अमेरिकी विदेश मंत्रालय के बयान में कहा गया कि विदेश मंत्री रुबियो ने दोहराया कि अमेरिका के लिए भारत से संबंध विशिष्ट महत्व के हैं। इसके साथ ही दोनों नेताओं के बीच इस बात पर भी सहमति बनी कि अमेरिका और भारत QUAD के माध्यम से एक स्वतंत्र और खुले हिंद-प्रशांत क्षेत्र को बढ़ावा देने के लिए मिलकर काम करना जारी रखेंगे। दोनों की मुलाकात ऐसे समय में हुई है, जब टैरिफ तनाव चल रहा है। इसके साथ ही अमेरिका ने H1B वीजा शुल्क को नाटकीय ढंग से बढ़ाकर 100000 डॉलर कर दिया है, जिसका असर भारतीय टेक इंटस्ट्री पर सबसे ज्यादा पड़ने की संभावना है।

Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday. The two leaders discussed bilateral and international issues during the meeting. A US State Department statement said that Secretary Rubio reiterated that relations with India are of special importance to the US. The two leaders also agreed that the US and India will continue to work together to promote a free and open Indo-Pacific region through the Quad. The meeting comes amid ongoing tariff tensions. The US has also dramatically increased the H1B visa fee to $100,000, which is likely to have the greatest impact on the Indian tech industry.
