कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने IPS पूरन कुमार के परिवार से मुलाकात की और कहा कि ‘दलित हो, तो आपको कुचला जा सकता है, फेंका जा सकता है, जिसे हम स्वीकार नहीं कर सकते।’ उन्होंने परिवार को न्याय दिलाने का आश्वासन दिया और दलितों पर अत्याचार के मुद्दे को उठाया। राहुल गांधी ने सरकार से इस मामले में सख्त कार्रवाई करने की मांग की और परिवार को हर संभव मदद का वादा किया।
