नेपाल में सोशल मीडिया पर पाबंदी लगाने की कोशिश का नतीजा हिंसक विरोध प्रदर्शनों के रूप में निकला…इसकी वजह से Gen Z सड़कों पर आ गया…ओली सरकार को इस्तीफ़ा देना पड़ा, साथ ही संसद, सुप्रीम कोर्ट और सचिवालय को आग के हवाले कर दिया गया…नेपाल में वो हुआ जो आज तक कभी नहीं हुआ था…लेकिन जिस सोशल मीडिया के एक बड़े हिस्से पर ओली सरकार ने पाबंदी लगाई, उसी सोशल मीडिया के सहारे ओली के इस्तीफ़े के बाद नेपाल में नई प्रधानमंत्री का चुनाव भी किया गया…उसी चुनाव के नतीजे के आधार पर सुशीला कार्की ने नेपाल की अंतरिम प्रधानमंत्री के रूप में शपथ ली..नेपाल के नए प्रधानमंत्री के चुनाव में जिस ऐप की सबसे बड़ी भूमिका की बात कही जा रही है, उसका नाम डिस्कॉर्ड है…भले ही डिस्कॉर्ड का शाब्दिक अर्थ मनमुटाव या कलह हो लेकिन इस ऐप ने नेपाल के Gen Z के बीच अनबन को मिटाने का काम किया…यही वजह है कि कुछ लोग डिस्कॉर्ड को अब नेपाल की संसद या मिनी संसद कह रहे हैं…उनकी दलील है कि ये ऐप संसद की तरह देश में राजनीतिक फ़ैसलों का केंद्र बन गया था…Gen Z के आंदोलन का कोई चेहरा नहीं था, कोई नेता नहीं था…ऐसी स्थिति में जब देश का नेतृत्व सौंपने की बारी आई तो लोगों ने डिस्कॉर्ड ऐप के ज़रिए अपनी पसंद रखी और इसी नतीजे के आधार पर सुशीला कार्की अंतरिम प्रधानमंत्री बनीं.
The attempt to ban social media in Nepal resulted in violent protests…because of this Gen Z came out on the streets…Oli government had to resign, and along with that the Parliament, Supreme Court and Secretariat were set on fire…something happened in Nepal which had never happened before…but with the help of the same social media which was banned by the Oli government, a new Prime Minister was also elected in Nepal after Oli’s resignation…On the basis of the result of the same election, Sushila Karki took oath as the interim Prime Minister of Nepal…
The app which is being said to have played the biggest role in the election of the new Prime Minister of Nepal is called Discord…even though the literal meaning of Discord is discord or strife, but this app worked to eliminate the differences among the Gen Z of Nepal…This is the reason why some people are now calling Discord the Parliament of Nepal or Mini Parliament…Their argument is that this app had become the center of political decisions in the country like the Parliament… There was no face, no leader… In such a situation, when it came to handing over the leadership of the country, people expressed their choice through the Discord app and based on this result, Sushila Karki became the interim Prime Minister.
