उत्तरी भारत में हो रही भारी बारिश के चलते यमुना नदी का जलस्तर तेजी से बढ़ रहा है. इस बढ़ते जलस्तर ने हरियाणा के यमुनानगर जिले स्थित हथिनीकुंड बैराज पर दबाव बना दिया, जिसके चलते बैराज के सभी 18 गेट खोल दिए गए हैं. यह कदम अतिरिक्त पानी की निकासी के लिए उठाया गया है, ताकि बैराज पर अधिक भार न पड़े.
Due to heavy rains in northern India, the water level of the Yamuna river is rising rapidly. This rising water level has put pressure on the Hathinikund Barrage located in Yamunanagar district of Haryana, due to which all 18 gates of the barrage have been opened. This step has been taken to drain out the excess water, so that there is no excessive load on the barrage.
