छठ और दीपावली पर बड़ी संख्या में ट्रेन चलाने के बाद भी यात्रियों के सैलाब के आगे ट्रेनें कम पड़ रही है. अंबाला कैंट स्टेशन में आम्रपाली एक्सप्रेस सहित कई ट्रेनों में स्लीपर-एसी कोच का कन्फर्म टिकट होने के बावजूद भी यात्री नहीं चढ़ पा रहे हैं. स्लीपर-एसी में जनरल यात्रियों का कब्जा हो जा रहा है. मजबूरी में टिकट वाले कई यात्री ट्रेन में नहीं चढ़ पा रहे हैं. भीड़ के सामने जीआरपी और आरपीएफ बौने पड़ जा रहे हैं. मजबूरी में ऐसे यात्री स्टेशन पर समय गुजार रहे हैं. कई यात्री छठ में घर पहुंचने की आस छोड़ चुके हैं.

Despite running a large number of trains for Chhath and Diwali, the trains are falling short in front of the influx of passengers. At Ambala Cantt station, passengers are unable to board many trains including Amrapali Express despite having confirmed tickets for sleeper-AC coaches. Sleeper-AC coaches are being occupied by general passengers. Due to compulsion, many passengers with tickets are unable to board the train. GRP and RPF are dwarfed in front of the crowd. Out of compulsion, such passengers are spending time at the station. Many passengers have given up hope of reaching home for Chhath.
