तृणमूल कांग्रेस नेताओं द्वारा विपक्षी दलों के नेताओं, कार्यकर्ताओं को धमकी देना कोई नई बात नहीं है। कुछ माह पहले बांकुड़ा के ओंदा के भाजपा विधायक को तृणमूल नेताओं ने हाथ-पैर तोड़ने की धमकी थी। इसके बाद अब मालदा जिले के अध्यक्ष अब्दुर रहीम बख्शी ने विधानसभा में भाजपा विधायक दल के मुख्य सचेतक व विधायक के मुंह में तेजाब डालने की धमकी दी है। हालांकि, ऐसा पहली बार नहीं है।
