बिहार की सियासत में अब चुनावी रण का बिगुल पूरी तरह बज चुका है! 243 विधानसभा सीटों की लड़ाई में अब मुद्दों से ज़्यादा बयानबाज़ी की आग भड़क रही है। फिर चाहे एनडीए हो या विपक्षी गठबंधन—दोनों ही ओर से एक-दूसरे पर वार-पलटवार का सिलसिला तेज़ हो चुका है। और अब “बुर्का vs घूंघट” की नई बहस ने पूरे चुनावी माहौल को गरमा दिया है।
दरअसल, बीजेपी ने चुनाव आयोग से मांग की है कि मतदान केंद्रों पर बुर्का पहनकर आने वाली महिलाओं की पहचान की जाए, और चेहरा मिलाने के बाद ही वोट डालने दिया जाए। बस, इसी पर सियासी बारूद भड़क गया। नीतीश सरकार में मंत्री और जेडीयू नेता कृष्णनंदन पासवान ने मोर्चा खोल दिया है उन्होंनें कहा कि अगर बुर्के में वोट देने की इजाजत है, तो फिर घूंघट वाली महिलाओं को क्यों रोका जाए? नियम सबके लिए एक होने चाहिए। मंत्री के इस बयान ने जैसे चुनावी मैदान की आग में तेल ही झोंक दिया हो।
जेडीयू की इस राय के बाद विपक्ष ने मौका ताड़ लिया। आरजेडी ने बीजेपी पर सीधा हमला करते हुए कह दिया कि —“यह सब वोट बैंक की सियासत है!” तो वहीं आरजेडी प्रवक्ता मृत्युंजय तिवारी ने कहा कि चुनावी प्रक्रिया पहले से पारदर्शी है, बीजेपी बस ध्रुवीकरण की राजनीति खेल रही है ताकि अल्पसंख्यक महिलाओं को निशाना बनाया जा सके।
तो वहीं इस पूरे विवाद से कांग्रेस कैसे पीछे हट सकती थी, कांग्रेस ने भी बीजेपी और जेडीयू पर धर्म के नाम पर वोट बटोरने का आरोप जड़ दिया। विपक्ष का कहना है कि चुनाव से ठीक पहले “बुर्का” और “घूंघट” जैसे मुद्दे उठाना दरअसल जनता को असली मुद्दों जैसे रोज़गार, शिक्षा और विकास से भटकाने की कोशिश की जा रही है.
बिहार के इस चुनाव में अब साफ दिख रहा है—बात सिर्फ वोटों की नहीं, पहचान की भी हो रही है। सवाल यह है कि क्या यह चुनाव विकास पर लड़ा जाएगा या फिर धर्म और परंपरा की आड़ में एक बार फिर समाज को बांटने की कोशिश होगी?
बुर्का हो या घूंघट अब यह सिर्फ कोई पहनावा नहीं रहा बल्कि अब यह बिहार की सियासत का सबसे गरम चुनावी मुद्दा बन चुका है।

RJD launched a direct attack on the BJP, saying, “This is all vote bank politics!” Meanwhile, RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said that the electoral process is already transparent, and the BJP is simply playing the politics of polarization to target minority women.
How could Congress back down from this entire controversy? Congress also accused the BJP and JDU of using religion to garner votes. The opposition says that raising issues like “burqa” and “ghoonghat” just before the elections is actually an attempt to distract the public from real issues like employment, education, and development.
It is now clear that this election in Bihar is not just about votes, it is also about identity. The question is: will this election be fought on development, or will there be an attempt to divide society once again under the guise of religion and tradition?
