केंद्र सरकार ने लद्दाख के जलवायु कार्यकर्ता सोनम वांगचुक की गैर-लाभकारी संस्था का FCRA रजिस्ट्रेशन रद्द कर दिया है. आरोप है कि एनजीओ ने विदेशी फंडिंग से जुड़े कानून का बार-बार उल्लंघन किया. यह कदम वांगचुक के नेतृत्व में केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में राज्य का दर्जा देने की मांग को लेकर हुए हिंसक विरोध प्रदर्शन के 24 घंटे बाद लिया गया.

The central government has revoked the FCRA registration of Ladakh climate activist Sonam Wangchuk’s non-profit organization, alleging repeated violations of the law governing foreign funding. The move came 24 hours after Wangchuk led violent protests demanding statehood for the union territory.
