इस मिसाइल को रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन यानी DRDO ने बनाया है, और इतना ही नहीं यह खास अग्नि प्राइम बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल परमाणु हथियार ले जाने में सक्षम है जिसके साथ ही यह बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल मध्यम दूरी के लिए सक्ष्म है.
रिपोर्टस के मुताबिक अग्नि प्राइम की मारक क्षमता 2000 किलोमीटर से भी ज्यादा है और इसको नेक्सट जेनरेशन की मिसाइल भी कहा जाता है. साथ ही इस बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल को अग्नि सीरीज की मिसाइलों में सबसे स्ट्रॉंग और एडवांस्ड मीडियम रेंज की मिसाइल माना जा रहा है. इस मिसाइल की टेस्टिंग के दौरान सभी मानकों को पूरा किया है और यह परिक्षण एक सफल परिक्षण साबित हुआ है.
अब आपको इस मिसाइल की खास बाते बता देते हैं… अग्नि-प्राइम बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल को भारत की स्ट्रैटेजिक फोर्सेज कमांड की मदद से संचालित किया जाता है तो वहीं इसको अग्नि पी के रूप में भी जाना जाता है, इस परीक्षण की सबसे खास बात ये है कि इस मिसाइल को रेल आधारित मोबाइल लॉन्चर सिस्टम से लॉन्च किया गया है.
रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने इस परिक्षण के बारे में कुछ जानकारी दी है जिसमें उनका कहना है कि ये विशेष रूप से डिजाइन किए गए रेल आधारित मोबाइल लॉन्चर से किया गया अपनी तरह का पहला प्रक्षेपण है। ये बिना किसी पूर्व शर्त के रेल नेटवर्क पर चलने की क्षमता रखता है। इसकी मदद से उपयोगकर्ता को देश भर में गतिशीलता प्राप्त होती है और कम विजिबिलिटी के साथ कम प्रतिक्रिया समय में मिसाइल लॉन्च करने की सुविधा मिलती है।
यह मिसाइल उच्च तीव्रता वाले विस्फोटक थर्मोबैरिक या परमाणु हथियार ले जाने में पूरी तरह से सक्षम और सफल है । इसके अलावा दो स्टेज के रॉकेट मोटर पर चलने वाली मिसाइल है साथ ही यह सॉलिड फ्यूल से उड़ने वाली मिसाइल मानी जाती है।

This ballistic missile is also considered the most powerful and advanced medium-range missile in the Agni series. During the test, the missile met all performance standards and the test was declared a complete success. The most significant aspect of this test is that the missile was launched from a rail-based mobile launcher system.
