Recently, Trump, in his pursuit of a Nobel Prize, attempted to intervene in the conflicts of several countries, making grandiose statements to try to resolve them. However, within hours, these claims have proven hollow. Similar claims were also seen amid the India-Pakistan tensions. Trump recently made several claims that he had stopped the India-Pakistan war or convinced both countries to agree to a ceasefire. In return, Trump even sought PM Modi’s support for a Nobel Prize nomination. However, India dismissed these claims, categorically stating that Trump had no role in the matter. The ceasefire with Pakistan was bilateral and not due to any third-party intervention. PM Modi himself responded strongly, saying that the ceasefire was agreed to only after Pakistan’s pleading. Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has rubbished Trump’s claims of stopping the war. Dar has also justified the Indian government’s claim in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi had clarified in the Parliament that no third country or any leader had any role in bringing about a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
