Azam Khan, a prominent Muslim figure in Uttar Pradesh and a senior Samajwadi Party leader, has been released from Sitapur jail after nearly 23 months. However, his supporters have suffered a major setback, as police have issued challans for 73 vehicles belonging to party workers who had come to receive Khan outside Sitapur jail. Traffic police say this was done because all these vehicles were parked in a no-parking zone. However, upon leaving jail, Azam Khan said something that surprised even Akhilesh. Before Azam Khan’s release, there were speculations that he might explore another political path. Whether he would remain in the Samajwadi Party (SP), join the BSP, or form a new party has been a topic of constant debate, but now, after being released from jail, Azam Khan has made a significant statement on this issue.
