An AC sleeper bus on the Jodhpur-Jaisalmer highway suddenly caught fire, engulfing the entire bus. Twenty passengers were burned to death in the accident. Sixteen passengers were seriously burned and are undergoing treatment at Jodhpur’s Mahatma Gandhi Hospital. A total of 57 passengers were on board. The reason behind this accident will shock everyone. Initial investigations have revealed that a short circuit in the bus caused the fire. However, another major negligence is being cited as the primary cause of the fire. The investigation revealed that a large quantity of firecrackers were stored in the bus’s trunk. The firecrackers, which were caused by a short circuit and a gas leak from the AC compartment, exacerbated the fire. Due to the bus’s fiber body, seat curtains, AC system, and narrow gallery, the fire spread rapidly throughout the bus.
