सरकारी कर्मचारियों और पेंशनर्स के लिए एक बड़ी राहत आई है. केंद्र सरकार ने यूनिफाइड पेंशन स्कीम (Unified Pension Scheme – UPS) चुनने की डेडलाइन अब 30 नवंबर 2025 तक बढ़ा दी है. पहले यह तारीख 30 जून तय की गई थी, जिसे बढ़ाकर 30 सितंबर किया गया था. अब सरकार ने कर्मचारियों और पेंशनर्स की मांग मानते हुए इसे दो महीने और बढ़ा दिया है.
यह फैसला उन सभी पर लागू होगा जो इस स्कीम में आना चाहते हैं – मौजूदा कर्मचारी (Existing Employees), पहले से रिटायर हो चुके कर्मचारी (Past Retirees) और मृत पेंशनर्स के कानूनी जीवनसाथी (Legally Wedded Spouse).
सरकार का कहना है कि यह स्कीम लोगों को रिटायरमेंट के बाद बेहतर आर्थिक सुरक्षा देगी. इसमें कई नए प्रावधान जोड़े गए हैं जैसे – Switch Option, इस्तीफे पर लाभ, Compulsory Retirement Benefits और Tax छूट.
पेंशन फंड रेगुलेटरी एंड डेवलपमेंट अथॉरिटी (PFRDA) ने इस फैसले को लागू करने के लिए तैयारी शुरू कर दी है. इसके तहत CRA सिस्टम में बदलाव और नए सर्कुलर जारी किए जा रहे हैं.
सरकार ने यह डेडलाइन इसलिए बढ़ाई है ताकि कर्मचारी और पेंशनर्स स्कीम को ठीक से समझकर सही फैसला ले सकें. अब लोगों के पास लगभग दो महीने और हैं जिसमें वे Financial Advice लेकर अपने भविष्य के लिए सही विकल्प चुन सकते हैं.
यह स्कीम 1 अप्रैल 2025 से लागू हुई थी और अब लाखों कर्मचारी और पेंशनर्स इस मौके का फायदा उठाकर अपने रिटायरमेंट को सुरक्षित बना सकते हैं.
The Government of India has extended the deadline to opt for the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) till 30 November 2025, giving employees and pensioners two more months to make their choice. Earlier, the last date was 30 June 2025, later extended to 30 September 2025. Now, the decision has been made keeping in mind requests from employees, retirees, and pensioners’ families.
The UPS, launched on 1 April 2025, is designed to provide financial security and simplify India’s pension system. It includes several benefits such as a Switch Option, Benefits on Resignation, Compulsory Retirement Benefits, and Tax Exemptions. The scheme is open for existing employees, retired pensioners, and legally wedded spouses of deceased pensioners.
The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) is making the necessary arrangements, including CRA system changes and fresh guidelines. With this extension, stakeholders now have more time to understand the scheme, seek financial advice, and take an informed decision.
This move is expected to benefit millions of employees and pensioners across India, ensuring long-term retirement safety and financial stability.
