PhonePe has launched ‘PhonePe Protect,’ a new security feature that safeguards users from fraudulent transactions in real time. It uses the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) ‘Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI)’ tool to flag suspicious mobile numbers. ‘PhonePe Protect’ instantly alerts users and declines payments linked to ‘Very High FRI’ numbers, enhancing security for its over 61 crore registered users across India.
