OpenAI Advises Users: Use GPT-5 Only as a Second Opinion
OpenAI’s latest model GPT-5 is more powerful and accurate than its predecessors, but the company cautions users against relying on it as their primary information source. Nick Turley, Head of ChatGPT, said the chatbot should serve as a “second opinion,” as hallucinations still occur in about 10% of responses. While OpenAI has integrated search to improve accuracy, Turley admitted achieving 100% reliability remains challenging. He added hallucinations will eventually be solved, though not in the near future.
