India’s credit card spending hit a new all-time high of ₹2.17 lakh crore in September 2025, according to a report by ACMIIL. The report highlighted a 13.4% month-on-month (MoM) and 23% year-on-year (YoY) growth in total spends, adding ₹25,500 crore during the month. The surge was largely driven by online transactions, which jumped 21.7% MoM, supported by festive sales on e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart. Four major banks — SBI Cards, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and HDFC Bank — together contributed around ₹26,000 crore to this rise. The share of online spends increased to 66.5%, while point-of-sale (POS) transactions declined to 33.5%. Experts say the trend reflects India’s growing preference for digital payments and credit-based spending, particularly during the festive season.

सितंबर 2025 में भारत में क्रेडिट कार्ड खर्च ने अब तक का सबसे बड़ा रिकॉर्ड बनाया. ACMIIL रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, देशभर में कुल खर्च ₹2.17 लाख करोड़ तक पहुंच गया. महीने-दर-महीने आधार पर इसमें 13.4% और साल-दर-साल आधार पर 23% की वृद्धि दर्ज की गई. इस ग्रोथ के पीछे मुख्य वजह रही ऑनलाइन शॉपिंग और फेस्टिव सेल्स, जिनमें Amazon और Flipkart जैसी ई-कॉमर्स वेबसाइटों ने बड़ा रोल निभाया.
SBI Cards, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank और HDFC Bank ने मिलकर ₹26,000 करोड़ से ज़्यादा का योगदान किया.
रिपोर्ट बताती है कि अब कुल कार्ड खर्च का 66.5% हिस्सा ऑनलाइन ट्रांजैक्शन का है, जबकि POS खर्च घटकर 33.5% रह गया है.
ये आंकड़े बताते हैं कि भारतीय उपभोक्ता अब तेजी से डिजिटल पेमेंट्स और क्रेडिट कार्ड यूज की ओर बढ़ रहे हैं, खासकर फेस्टिव ऑफर्स और कैशबैक स्कीम्स की वजह से.
