India’s coffee exports have hit a record high, touching USD 1.80 billion in FY 2024–25, registering a remarkable 40% jump from last year. According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the rising global demand for India’s rich and aromatic Arabica and Robusta coffee varieties is fueling this export growth. Indian coffee is primarily cultivated in Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, with newer regions like Odisha’s Koraput and the Northeast emerging as strong producers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his “Mann Ki Baat” program, highlighted the success story of Indian coffee, noting its growing global reputation and its role in providing livelihood opportunities. With increasing demand for value-added products such as roasted and instant coffee, India’s coffee industry is evolving into a robust export powerhouse.
भारत की कॉफी अब दुनिया भर में छा रही है. वित्त वर्ष 2024–25 में भारत की कॉफी एक्सपोर्ट 1.80 बिलियन डॉलर तक पहुंच गई है, जो पिछले साल की तुलना में 40% ज्यादा है.
Commerce Ministry के अनुसार, भारत की Arabica और Robusta beans वाली कॉफी की अंतरराष्ट्रीय मांग लगातार बढ़ रही है. कर्नाटक, केरल और तमिलनाडु में सबसे ज्यादा कॉफी पैदा होती है, जबकि ओडिशा का कोरापुट और उत्तर-पूर्वी राज्य भी तेजी से आगे आ रहे हैं.
प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने भी ‘मन की बात’ में भारत की कॉफी की तारीफ की और कहा कि “India’s Coffee is brewed in India, loved by the World”.
अब भारतीय कॉफी न सिर्फ स्वाद का प्रतीक है, बल्कि ‘Vocal for Local’ और आत्मनिर्भर भारत की पहचान भी बन चुकी है.
